The Shelter was established to support the social sector and fulfill its vision of realizing a violence-free society.
Since its establishment, the Shelter has succeeded in a number of ways, including:
– 2025
- The Shelter implemented targeted training programs to enhance the efficiency of its professional staff and strengthen their capacity to engage effectively with victims. As part of this effort, 11 employees have been enrolled in a diploma program in combating human trafficking since the Shelter’s establishment.
- Strategic partnerships were expanded through a Memorandum of Understanding with Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, aimed at improving service integration and strengthening protection and empowerment programs for beneficiaries.
- In collaboration with partner entities, the Shelter’s awareness programs on women’s and children’s rights reached a total of 1,062 beneficiaries.
- The Shelter also implemented and participated in awareness campaigns and community initiatives to further promote awareness of women’s and children’s rights, delivering a total of 24 awareness activities.
– 2024
- The Shelter, in collaboration with its partner entities, successfully delivered awareness programs on women’s and children’s rights, reaching a total of 1,010 beneficiaries.
- The Shelter conducted and participated in 19 awareness activities, campaigns and community initiatives focused on promoting women’s and children’s rights.
– 2023
- The Shelter helps a total of 198 women and children rebuild their lives since its inception in 2017
- Aman Shelter participates in the International Visitor Leadership Program, arranged by the US Department of State and held in the United States
- The Shelter participates in Women and their Impact on Civilizations – Challenges and Changes Conference, in London, UK, under the theme, ‘Women: Power of Change and Spirit of Development’. The primary objective was to advocate for women’s concerns and foster unified perspectives, charting a progressive vision that aligns with women’s aspirations, upholds their rights and amplifies their capacities in addressing societal challenges
- The Shelter participates in the Art Therapy Conference, organized by Abu Dhabi Center for Shelter and Humanitarian Care, which includes workshops, art exhibitions and scientific sessions
- The number of volunteers at Aman Shelter increases to 56
– 2022
- Aman Shelter launches 31 educational initiatives with the aim of raising awareness about violence and human trafficking.
– 2021
- The Fostering System was added to the mandate of Aman Shelter under Emiri Decree No. 1 of 2021
- The Shelter placed its first foster child with an Emirati family
- The Shelter was awarded the Humanitarian Leadership Award by the International Norwegian Association for Justice and Peace
– 2020
- The Shelter participates in the 2nd Government Forum against Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East, held in Saudi Arabia via video conference
- The Shelter participates in the International Visitor Leadership Program arranged by the US Department of State and held in the United States
– 2019
- Aman Shelter launches a new, telephone hotline service, to enable victims to seek help and advice quickly
- The Shelter launches a new website to increase the availability of accurate help, advice and information
- The Shelter organizes the 2nd Regional Forum for the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children: Reality & Strategies, which garners widespread participation from Arab nations alongside numerous international institutions. The Forum scrutinizes Arab experiences in combating violence against women and children, and discusses the key issues
- The Shelter organizes the My Tolerant Child Forum, in celebration of Emirati Children’s Day, involving boys and girls from schools across Ras Al Khaimah and several RAK Government agencies.
- The Shelter participates in the 1st Government Forum against Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East, held in Bahrain and chaired by H.E. Yaqoub Al Hosani, head of the UAE delegation
- The Shelter participates in the Countering Crime and Violent Extremism: A Social Responsibility Conference, organized by the Wajeb Volunteering Association, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the GCC
- The Shelter engages in the 2nd meeting of the UAE-Indonesia Anti-Human Trafficking Committee in Jakarta
- The Shelter takes part in the 15th session to discuss the 1st periodic report submitted by Bahrain at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt
- The Shelter becomes a member of the Technical Committee for Child Custody Affairs, affiliated to RAK Courts Department
– 2018
- The Shelter becomes a member of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking
- The Shelter organizes the 1st Regional Forum for the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children, with participation from Arab and international associations, civil society organizations, ministries and Government agencies. Speakers deliberated on Arab experiences in combating violence against women, the role of Arab civil society institutions in addressing the issue and the formulation of a regional strategy to combat violence and provide pragmatic solutions to realize this right
- As part of the UAE delegation, the Shelter participates at the Universal Periodic Review of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland

- Aman Shelter for Women and Children is established under the Emiri Decree No. 3 of 2017
- Aman Shelter participates in the 5th Arab Regional Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPACAN), organized by the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC)
