Everyone has the right to live a life free from violence. That principle is enshrined in the framework of the United Arab Emirates and its commitment to human rights.
Sadly, women and children still suffer domestic violence, abuse and trafficking.
In response to the plight of victims, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, instructed the establishment of the Aman Shelter for Women and Children in Ras Al Khaimah under the Emiri Decree No. 3 of 2017.
Today, the Shelter is a vital resource for woman and children fleeing violence, acting as a haven where they can begin to rebuild their lives. We provide access to key services, expert advice, support and guidance. The heart of our ethos is that we are a people-centric organization, so we are guided by the needs of those who seek our services.
